DJs are popstars too, you know?

Hello everyone!

Well, you already heard about the awesome bands you are going to see at this years Indie Pop Days Festival in Berlin. But what about the DJs? They are hopefully going to be the ones keeping you up and dancing all night long. So here we go!

Friday night we have invited Sleater Timmy and Abso LuLou to play their favorite indie pop'n' dance-records for you.The  Lo-Fi club Djs are going to play before and between concerts. They are experts in awesome lo-fi music and love to see you on the dancefloor or enjoy a nice song just hanging around.

What else? Big Pink Cake are going to play their finest tunes to get you through the time between gigs. Do you know how it all started? Well, the story goes something like this:

Matthew and Heather had looked at the impact that it had had on their lives... Matthew was pretty convinced that it had shaped the 90s and beyond and it needed to be celebrated. So they celebrate it they did... as a one off and then the ball kept rolling. First, in London then moving to Bristol. Big Pink Cake has now put on many many gigs, indie pop parties, weekenders and more recently the 'Lawrence of Belgravia' film. It also became a record label concentrating on the indie pop aesthetic that is so true to the bone of the Big Pink Cake idea and celebration of all things indie pop.

Matthew from Big Pink Cake is going to get you through the night after the last concert. Ian Cowen from The Sunny Street/ Pocketbooks will join him. But who is going to be the lucky DJ-Team for the day? No one else but the famous Sonic Pop Allnighter DJ-Team. If you ever went out for one of their dj-gigs filled with adorable hits from french film-noir soundtracks or sugarsweet tweesingles or even this long time forgotten britpopsong you secretly longed for hearing again, maybe it will become true this saturday, who knows. It's always different and always nice with the guys from Sonic Pop Allnighter!

What else? Natalie Stardust prepared a beautiful indie-souly sundayset for you to listen to before and between the bands. Afterwards she might join you on the dancefloor, our all second home, for a swing to the tunes of Tandberg and Anders. Well but who knows what it means when they announce they bring their favourite records from their home. Do they want to play rarities, classics and musical pearls from Norway?

Well, that's about it! We are looking forward to the DJ-sets as much as we look forward to the bands and artists performing on stage. It's only one day left before the party begins and there is not much more to say than: YAAAY!

Love to see you so very soon!!

Aww, one more week to go? Sorry, we can't wait anymore

Hi everyone!

It's a week from now untill the Indie Pop Days Berlin 2011 start and we all meet. We expect our festival to be ridiculously great and very much look forward to meeting you and the bands.
Since we are not exactly the patient kind of people we decided to give you a tiny little taste of the Indie Pop Days already tomorrow.

So let's meet at the King Kong Klub in Berlin, Mitte (Brunnenstrasse 173) and enjoy good tunes, nice company, cool drinks and the pleasant anticipation towards Indie Pop Days!! We are not alone behind the turntables, some of the Sonic Pop Allnighter (Punk New Wave Sixties French Beat IndiePop) and Kostja (Lo-fi, Chillwave, Noise) are coming over to join us for a great night.

There is even a special treat, because you can get your weekend-festival-ticket for only 30 Euro instead of 32 Euro. And we will have some of our totebags with us for sale and for you to show off.

In case you already have been at the King Kong Klub you know the deal. Entrance is free as a bird, but there are two Euro extra on the first drink. That money is for the DJs and we are going to spend it well on even more records to play them to you!

We will be there from 10 p.m. on and probably stay there the whole night, so step by and say hello whenever you want!

See you all tomorrow!

DJ-Set at INDIE POP DAYS FESTIVAL BERLIN

Fellow readers,

we already told you what there is to know about the bands that are going to play at our festival this summer. You can see the complete list on the right side of this very fair page with links to every band.
But! There is even more to experience at our festival than live-bands! We are also going to DJ on this occasion and we are not going to be on our own behind the dj-tables.

We happily announce that Tim Gane from Stereolab is going to join us behind the turntables, so that is probably going to be a hat full of fun!

You might also know Tim Gane's djing colleague (or is it the other way around?) Alex Bechberger. They are a good team at the turntables, which they already proved at the broadcasting show Rock/Pop am Montag on reboot.fm. You can still listen to the great session by Tim Gane and Alex Bechberger. Alex's second guest at this session is Jeremy Novac.

So, that's the situation here: we've got the precious dj-team Let's kiss and make up and very special guest DJs on Friday and Alex Bechberger accompanied by Tim Gane on Saturday! How does that sound to you? Right, it sounds like a lot of fun. Put on your dancing shoes!

See you very soon, dear dancers.

Let's Dance And Make Up today!

Hi all!

Are you at the Melt!Festival this weekend? It is sold out, so some of you are definitely going to be there, we assume. Well, we are staying in Berlin, weatherforecast doesn't look so good either, so why bother. Ah, right, Pulp are going to play... Well, then!

In case you are in town, too, why don't you come to our party at King Kong Klub this Saturday. If you want, it's no problem to play Pulp for us, either. Of course, it's not live, but we are nice, too!

Furthermore we have some great visuals for you, in case you get tired because of too much dancing. So come along and say hi!

Laters!

Let's dance and make up

Hello out there,

We know you're all curious about the line-up for this years Indie Pop Days. But before we will announce the latest confirmations, there will be a Let's kiss and make up party at King Kong Klub on Friday night. Not that bad, huh?
This time we are very happy to welcome Kostja as our guest DJ! He'll bring you loooot's of fine lo-fi-tunes, chillwave dreams and some noise action as well. And we give you a terrific selection of Indiepop, 80s Jangle Pop, Twee, Folk and even some sing-and-dance-alongs to start in another weekend of (hopefully) sunny days!
