Hi you,
as we all know, weather is an idiot and never does what it's supposed to . If you don't believe us, please feel free to contact any farmer you like and be sure to get the same news over and over again in pretty colorful expressions.
Our advantage is we don't have much business with farming, which is why we can go inside and say: yeah, screw you, weather in general. And that is what we are going to do this weekend.
Since the weatherforecast can not exactly decide what we are going to have this weekend, we'll make sure everyone's having a good time and pretty much skip the outdoor-concert-part for safety's sake.
This means, on the sad face side, no sunny concerts, no blinking into the bright sun, but on the happy face side it means you can leave your wellies at home and have more space for extraordinary merch stuff, if you like, no walking around on muddy grounds and no danger of getting the sharp end of an umbrella in your eye while standing in a crowd and getting wet from rain.
We can live with that and it's not that we will never let you out of the Wasserturm Kreuzberg. There will still be music outside, brought to you by supergreat DJs or remix-artists, we are going to put some food outside in a tent and even though we let the bands play inside, we still pray for some sunlight because if the sun shines there is a surprise waiting for you outside on Sunday.
So, what do you say? We hope we didn't destroy your welly-outfit-plans and you can find something nice to wear. We are sure you will!
See you soo soon.

Let's Dance And Make Up today!
Hi all!
Are you at the Melt!Festival this weekend? It is sold out, so some of you are definitely going to be there, we assume. Well, we are staying in Berlin, weatherforecast doesn't look so good either, so why bother. Ah, right, Pulp are going to play... Well, then!
In case you are in town, too, why don't you come to our party at King Kong Klub this Saturday. If you want, it's no problem to play Pulp for us, either. Of course, it's not live, but we are nice, too!
Furthermore we have some great visuals for you, in case you get tired because of too much dancing. So come along and say hi!
Laters!

Guide to experience a great weekend in a couple of steps
Phew, there is a lot going on these days. It's all about fashion and clothes and stuff at the moment, since there's this tiny little Berlin Fashion Week going on.
But there is more to experience than the runwayshows and high-class invitation-only-superduper whatever-events, let me tell you! For example there's the Moderummel at Rummelsburger Bucht. The magic is going to happen from Friday afternoon 3 p.m. until the last guest has left the beach! You can experience fashion, there is also going to be a runwayshow and a fashionmarket with young designers presenting their ideas of fashion. Chances are high to find a nice piece of fine cloth-art, but save some money for the bar and, of course, the rest of the weekend.
There are a whole bunch of opportunities on how to spend your Saturday. Let's say, you've had enough of the troubles and need a quiet, peaceful day. Well, in case the weather is friendly, why don't you make a trip to the Wannsee or hop on your bike for a ride through Brandenburg. Go by S-Bahn as far out of the city as you can and then find out on your own, where the street leads you to. A card as a safety-backup is a good idea and nothing to be ashamed of! In case you are more the type of person who never gets enough of the excitement, Berlin always has to offer, go and check out Berlin Wedding Dress #6 but make sure not to get an consuming-overkill since there is this very dear fleamarket with some pretty nice and cool persons waiting for you to step by (already told you about). Saturday night? Well, do I have to remind you that the open-air cinema-season has started?
Sunday is going to be a very nice day! After a walk at the Mauerpark fleamarket in Prenzlauer Berg and a couple of hours in the sun, join us at the Volksbühne for the Abschlusskonzert with Esben & the Witch, Deerhoof and Tu Fawning.Better hurry up and buy a ticket before it's sold out.
Did you already have plans or better ideas than ours? Let us know!
However, have a great weekend. We'll meet at the fleamarket, don't we?

Update! Music and stuff.
Hey admired reader and festival-friends!
We hope you have a nice week so far and enjoy this strange weather. Regarding the weather: we, the festival creators and bloggers, are all based in Berlin. So how is the weather at your place and where are you making your living at the moment? Seems a silly question but we would like to know, especially if there is a vibrating twee-scene at your place. And we are sure you would like to know more about the bands that are going to be our entertaining guests. The confirmations are getting more and more, in fact we are almost done with the booking. But there is still enough time for surprises and changes. For now we can say the following:
Our Blanket Skies have this song written by Matthias F. Brasch, whose project it is, wrote on his own and it's about to thank people for their help. It has the fitting title 'I thank you' and we would like to say thank you, too. Because not only do Our Blanket Skies play music that reminds us of the famous musician Beirut from time to time, the lack of drums, kind and melancholic arrangements but also happy ukulele- or as Matthias F. Brasch would call it ukulilli- sounds are a pretty nice way to put it. Our Blanket Skies, especially Matthias, have also been part of the team that brought the second edition of the Berlin Melodica Festival to us this year, which happened in the Görlitzer Park and gave everyone a great time! This to say we are glad to meet you again in August at our very own little festival, Our Blanket Skies!
Well, that should be it for today. We are considering going to Ty Segalls show at West Germany in Kreuzberg tonight. But we are not sure because Andrew Jacksoon Jihad is also going to play music tonight. For Free! That's a tough one. What would our readers do?
Have a marvellous time anyway!

You might know 'Der elegante Rest' if you are in to bands like Ja, Panik because Der elegante Rest were the opening act for them a while ago. It's like a group of mods who got the blues, one might think while listening to their almost orchestral songs. They just got it. Thoughtful lyrics (in german though), nice rhythm skills and this shy kind of wit we all are so keen on. Der elegante Rest was founded in Leipzig five years ago. Enough time to gain some experience on stage and in the studio. We are happy to welcome them and look forward to their performance!
