Who would have guessed that!

Hello beloved reader,

at first we would like to thank you for your suggestions and ideas. They really inspired us and we heard about a couple of bands we already knew though, some of them we even had in mind for the festival, too, and some of them not but, considered requesting them. So that went well!
We are happy about this fact because it proved to us that a couple of people share our taste in music. That is comforting for us doing a festival, that would be a liiittle expensive, if we were the only ones who are interested in the bands that are going to play.

Speaking of bands that are going to play. There is another reason why we are excited to quite an extend.
It is no longer just rumor that Aberdeen are going to play at our very dear festival! We think it is a huge honor since the band split up twice already (1995, when Sarah Records shut down, and then again 2005, after the member's interest for other projects grew), to host this formidable band! Aberdeen announced a reunion-show at The San Francisco Pop Fest on 05/26/2011. There are no more shows planned for now. Except one gig in Berlin at the INDIE POP DAYS FESTIVAL! yay!!

We think this is a good reason to attend the festival as a guest, even if it is only for seeing one of the three bands from the US that were signed to Sarah Records. Check here if you already have rsvp'ed on facebook in case you are attending! And check back on this blog again soon, since we have a lot more pretty good news!

Yours sincerely.

Thank god it's friday

Dear reader,

if you're happy about the weekend clap your hands (clap clap).
But oh no! It's still not time for Indie Pop Days. That is a bummer, but please don't be sad.

We thought about good ideas for things cool kids would like to do at this weekend and are well-prepared to come up with a couple of ideas!
Only condition is: you are in Berlin at the moment.

At first you might want to paint your nails in a nice color. Spring is just around the corner so why don't you choose something bright like yellow or apricot. Another option could be a dark green. While doing this or something completely different look at the homepage of metronomy. They are going to release their new album soon and you can already download the ridiculously fancy single 'she wants' + look at the stylish video to 'the look'. Nice Nice Nice!!

So, your nails are dried and you are prepared to go out? Well, take a look at Matthias Heiderichs pictures in Friedrichshain. He is celebrating a vernissage today at Spot Galery and would definitely be happy to see you! Maybe you remember him, he shot a lot of beautiful photos at last year's Indie Pop Days Festival.

There will still be time enough to visit a nice concert after that. That is going to be a tough decision between the Cut Up Festival at
NBI or Agent Side Grinder at Levee (Ex-Bang Bang Club). In case you can't decide at all, maybe you want to go to multilayerladen and find out what anarchic performance poetry is.

Whatever you do, we hope you have a nice weekend and enjoy yourself as well as your company. Watch out, next week is going to be exciting, since we already have our first band confirmations for the festival!!

P.S.: spring starts!

It is on again...

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since the last entry at this very fair blog of ours, but don't think we were only hanging around on couches all day! Quite the opposite, we can say, as you were able to see on our facebook-page.

But now we have decided to revive this blog since not every single person is or wants to be on facebook. Here we go: there will officially be a second Indie Pop Days Festival in Berlin 2011! Mark the dates August 26th to 28th in your calendars, because you are hopefully going to be busy listening to some fine music with us on that specific weekend!

Last year we moved a bit from location to location (the adorable multilayerladen on friday, saturday we were at the wasserturm, just like sunday), this will not happen again, since we decided to stay at the beautiful Wasserturm in Kreuzberg for the whole weekend. Also we were able to find a real stage for the outdoor-gigs, so rain won't be a problem again.
(for those who unhappily missed it last year, we were forced to reschedule a couple of stage-times due to unfriendly weather-conditions because we couldn't let the people play outside. It was a bummer, but in the end everything worked out fine. Still, this year we are prepared for almost everything!)

We have a whole bunch of great ideas for the second Indie Pop Days Festival and are already excited about having you around again for a great weekend. But we have to wait. Until then we will keep busy booking great bands for concerts, djing on several occasions or doing other nice stuff.

We are going to tell you about everything here, so why don't you check in from time to time and keep yourself up to date? There are some interesting things going on, we promise!

Now have a sunny saturday!
